REGULAR CAMP ACTIVITIES 2018-19

Celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated in the college campus on 31st October, 2018. The students and especially the NSS volunteers showed lot of acrobatic skills. The conducted a street plays on the theme of national unity. Many NSS volunteers arranged a fancy dress competition and demonstrated the unity in diversity of our country.

On 24th September 2018 the NSS Golden Jubliee Day was celebrated. Student volunteers participated in the program. They performed dance, drama, songs and recitation. The senior faculty members along with our Principal explained the students the role of NSS  and the character building role it plays to make the students a better citizen for tomorrow.

The Blood Donation camp was organized by all the three units of NSS of Bankura Zilla Saradamani Mahila Mahavidyapith on 6th December 2018. The State Blood Transfusion Council, West Bengal along with its team of medical experts helped us in conducting the camp through scientific blood collection and storage methods.  The NSS volunteers and the students of the college counting to 67, teaching as well as non teaching staff counting up to 30, all enthusiastically donated blood. Health check up, especially BMI (Body Mass Index), blood Group detection and thalassemia testing was also carried out. Certificates were given to the blood donars too. A pledge was taken to involve more student donors next year.  Many enthusiasts from around Bankura town too came to the college to encourage our girl students. Food and glucose was distributed among the participants.

In collaboration with the department of Psychiatry, Bankura Sammilani Medical College & Hospital, the NSS wing had organized an awareness camp on Suicide Prevention on 10th December 2018. More than 70 students participated with eagerness. They put forth relevant questions and were highly benefitted by this seminar.

25th January 2019, Friday was celebrated all over the country as Voter’s Day. The NSS wing of the college along with the students took out a rally in association with the District Magistrates office. The rally went from Machantala to Panchbaga. Students held up banners and festoons, distributed pamphlets among people to make them aware about their voting rights.

On 15th August 2018, like every other year the district magistrate of Bankura hoists the National Flag. Independence day is celebrated with great pomp and show. The state police, the students from different schools and colleges bring colorful processions and march-past saluting the district administrative officials. The best processions are awarded. The NSS unit of Bankura Zilla Saradamani Mahila Mahavidyapith won the second position this year. The news was covered in national daily. It was a great honor for us. The physical instructor Ms Pampa Garai and the NSS volunteers made us proud.

National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January 2019. The students and NSS volunteers assembled in the college auditorium. Teachers and students garlanded the photo of swami Vivekananda.  Our Principal Prof. Siddhartha Gupta deliberated a special lecture on the life of Swami Vivekananda, his ideologies and principles, his expectations from today’s youth. He emphasized on the role of the students towards Nation Building. Food packets and sweets were distributed among students and volunteers after the completion of the program.

On 21st February 2019, as the World Celebrated UN’s Mother language Day, so did all the three units of NSS of Bankura Zilla Saradamani Mahila Mahavidyapith. The students sang Bengali patriotic songs, songs of unity, dance, recited poems on the rich culture and heritage of Bengal and the Bengali Language. Professors from the department of English, Bengali and Sanskrit delivered lectures on the affluences of these languages and greatness of each of them in their own respect. Later certificate distribution to NSS volunteers and prizes were given for excellent performances in leadership and active participation.
