Department of Economics of bankura Zilla Saradamani mahila Mahavidyapith started initially with the General Course of Study at the UG Level Under Burdwan University. Honours Course in Economics had been introduced with Science Faculty at the UG Level in 2006. From 2017, the Honours Degree in Economics has been offered under Bankura University. Science, Arts and Commerce students have the opportunity to take Economics as Honours subject. It is a distinguished and glorious department of the College. Every year students of Economics Department are completing their graduation with a remarkable marks.

Departmental Survey, Computer practical Application, and Classes in Smart Classroom are delivered by the departmental teachers. Teachers are very helpfulto build up the glory of the department.
